The Phoenix Elementary School District is the oldest school district in the Valley with a lot of great history! We are located in the growing and evolving downtown area in the heart of Phoenix where you'll find our new light rail system, Arizona State University, Downtown campus, US Airways Center, home of the Phoenix Suns, Bank One Ballpark, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and a variety of museums, theatres, restaurants, hotels and places to shop. Phoenix and its surrounding communities make up a thriving metropolis of approximately 1.5 million people. The district has 14 schools in an urban setting and is considered to be a Title 1 district with approximately 8,000 students.

Phoenix Elementary School District #1 is dedicated to the total development of every preschool through eighth grade student enrolled by setting high expectations for each child and fostering academic leadership. We are a world-class, child-centered district with strong ties to our families and diverse community. We develop life-long learners and competent achievers who are self-confident critical thinkers.

In our school district, students are our first priority. We prepare our children to be life-long learners by having the latest technology accessible to them in the classrooms. We also demonstrate this by having our Signature Schools as an option for students to choose from that will give them exposure to things that may spark their interest in high school, college and in life at an early age.
